What does your contract with the employer say about giving notice? If it says that a period of notice is required by either party, the employer may be well within their right to withhold your salary given that no notice was given. If the period of notice is one month and they owe you 2 weeks salary, an argument can be made that you may even owe them. Normally, employers do not seek to recoup money that has already been paid out in these cases. If however there are moneyed owed to you, the company will determine first if you owe them any money before disbursing final monies owed to you.
